Did you know?
-Colon cancer affects 1 in 20 people. One in twenty.
-Colon cancer is the #2 cause of cancer deaths today.
-Colon cancer symptoms can be persistent stomach aches and pains, rapid weight loss and bloody bowel movements.
The good news is that colon cancer is often beatable when detected and treated in its early stages. Colon cancer can even be prevented altogether when polyps are removed before they develop into cancer. If colon cancer runs in your family you want to be checked out before the recommended age of 50. For more info visit the Colon Cancer Alliance website HERE.

Background: My friends Tara, Amanda and I are putting this event together in honor of our dear friend, Nicole Kristin Schulze (born Campbell), who was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in November 2011.  Her diagnosis was discovered after going to the emergency room for stomach pains and other symptoms.  Over the next two years, Nicole proved to be a true fighter.  Although she endured countless surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy, she never complained and always had a smile for others.  She was an incredible inspiration to everyone she knew.  Nicole became a huge supporter of the Colon Cancer Alliance and reached out to others who were also fighting colon cancer to offer her support and thoughts of comfort.  This remarkable woman loved and cared for others with all of her heart.  Sadly, we lost our sweet friend on September 19, 2013 at the young age of 32.
Although Nicole has passed, we know that her beautiful spirit lives on and that she is smiling down on us as we become advocates for colon cancer awareness and research.  We sincerely hope that you can either participate in this event or donate to our cause.  Thank you! -Sandy, Tara and Amanda
